Sound Off: Will the city have mulch for sale this spring, in addition to its usual compost sale?

The city’s wood chip sale will be 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 12 and 13, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 14 (or until supplies are depleted). The wood chip sale is held — rain or shine — at the city’s Wood Recovery and Composting facility, 1420 E. 11th St. Cost is $10 per pickup load; the price will be more for larger trucks. The wood chips are generated by the department from trees that are cut down in the city. The city’s compost sale will be 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 23 and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 24, also at the composting facility. That sale also will close early if the supply is depleted.
