Sound off: Who is the contact person for Oldsters United for Responsible Service? I’d like to learn more information about this group.
Two contacts are Leo Shaw, president, at 842-8034, and Nancy Shockley, vice president, at 843-3782. Or you could meet members of the group in person at one of its weekly dances. O.U.R.S. sponsors dances with live music from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. every Sunday at the Eagles Lodge, 1803 W. Sixth St. Admission is $5 per person. Carry-in refreshments are served. The dances are usually identified as “seniors” dances, but actually there is no age limit, and singles are welcome. Music is generally country-western, with waltz, two-step, ten-step and line dances, and a little bit of old-time rock ’n’ roll.
