Sound Off: Are the February temperatures in Lawrence always higher than the January temperatures, on average? Can we expect it to keep getting warmer?
According to numbers provided by the Kansas State Climatologist’s office, February is 5 degrees warmer on average — 34.8 degrees to 29.8 degrees — than January since 1909. However, that’s not always the case. In 2004, February was more than six degrees colder than January.

Temps aside, I thought I once read that February is (on average) our snowiest month here, but maybe I'm remembering wrong.

People, this is Kansas! No matter what you've heard or read, there is no knowing what the weather will be like.

I do know this winter is just wrong. In my 50 some years, winter has never been like this. If I wanted weather like this, I would move to the desert. Kansas is going to become a desert if this isn't an anomaly. I hope this is just weird Kansas weather, and it's not a trend. Hopefully rain tomorrow and snow next week.

Don't worry. Brownback will starve her back to Mexico. Meanwhile Kobach is working hard to make sure she doesn't vote in the next election.
