Sound Off: Will the Lawrence Journal-World be offering an app for the iPhone and iPad soon?

Yes, there are plans to have apps for LJWorld.com. Up first will be an update for the KUsports.com app. There will be news about that very soon.

An update to kusports app is an understatement! An overhaul is needed!
    Slow, kluncky, awful!
Please make it and a possible ljw app actually usable.

    Thank you.

what about a mobile version of your sites? Are there any plans for that?

We are working on fixing the redirect to our mobile site. In the meantime, you can visit m.ljworld.com, m.kusports.com or m.lawrence.com.

I'm still most fond of the LJW app that comes wrapped in blue plastic and is left on my doorstep each morning.

As long as it doesn't force users to use the app. I do much of my news reading on iPads but I dislike having an app for each new source. I'd prefer just use their website most of the time. However, some sources have started to force iPad users to apps and thus I simply don't read those sources.

Please include in the KUSports app the ability to look at current game stats in a low bandwidth environment. It can be next to impossible to see anything on the internet while inside KU's crowded stadiums.
