Sound Off

Sound Off: Dayne Crist was able to play right away at Kansas after transferring from Notre Dame, and Jordan Webb was able to play right away at Colorado after transferring from Kansas. So why was Jake Heaps required to sit out a year after transferring to Kansas from Brigham Young? It doesn’t seem fair.

Crist graduated from Notre Dame before transferring, and Webb graduated from Kansas before transferring. Graduates who transfer and enroll in a graduate program unavailable at their former schools are allowed to play right away without sitting out a year. Heaps did not graduate from BYU; he becomes eligible next season and has two remaining years of eligibility.
