Besides Kansas University, are there any other Bowl Conference Series schools that still have a track inside their football stadium?
There may be others, but Journal-World sports writer Matt Tait turned up just one. The University of Washington’s Husky Stadium, in Seattle, also features a track around its football field. Husky Stadium’s capacity of 72,500 makes it the largest stadium in the Pacific Northwest. Like KU’s Memorial Stadium, which holds 50,071, Husky Stadium is horseshoe-shaped. Its open end overlooks Lake Washington and the Cascade Mountains, including Mount Rainier. Husky Stadium opened Nov. 27, 1920, and has been renovated twice. It currently is undergoing a third renovation, which is scheduled for completion in 2013, that will lower the field and remove the track.
