I saw where the City Commission approved giving city employees a year-end bonus. How many city employees will receive the bonus?
The city operates what it calls a year-end “longevity payment” program. The program provides a year-end payment to full-time employees who have been employed by the city for at least five consecutive years. Eligible employees receive $48 per year of service. According to a city memo, the city expects to provide $411,904 in payments to 583 employees. That number could go down, however, if some employees leave the employment before Dec. 31.
