Why doesn’t the city enforce its “prohibiting of non-service animals” at YSC and the Clinton Lake Softball Complex, with all of the children out there? Some owners don’t clean up their dog’s messes.
Pets, excluding service dogs, are not allowed inside the YSC complex, said Megan Gilliland, the city’s communications manager. “Complex supervisors are trained to enforce this rule, and if the public sees a dog that staff has not already noticed, contact the staff at the concession stand or report it directly to a supervisor,” she said. In Lawrence, Gilliland said, pet owners are required to clean up pet excrement on public or private areas.
