I’ve seen signs up on the soccer and ballfields at Quail Run School that Roundup was sprayed on July 3. Did someone need permission to spray on public school property? Did they get it? If so, who gave it?

“Commercially available Roundup is the only herbicide authorized by the Lawrence public schools for use on school property,” said Tom Bracciano, division director of facilities and maintenance for the Lawrence school district. “District procedures also dictate the placing of warning signs anytime it is used. Our department gave permission for the spraying of the infields on the ball diamonds at Quail Run as part of improvements being made to those fields, with labor and materials donated by a Girl Scout troop affiliated with the school.”
