I recently read a Journal-World article about cars being stolen as owners left them unattended to warm up, and I was curious how many auto thefts are reported in Lawrence yearly?
According to the Uniform Crime Reports compiled by the FBI, through the end of September, there were 113 auto thefts reported in 2010. In 2009, there were 162 reported, and 192 in 2008.
