A Journal-World article about the annual Lawrence Old-Fashioned Christmas Parade said it cost about $20,000 and was sponsored by businesses. What does the $20,000 go toward?
According to Phillip Bradley, parade committee chair, the $20,000 is spent on three major areas: lodging for out-of-town carriage owners; catered meals and other supplies for parade volunteers; and advertising for the event. Bradley said the parade does not pay any employees, and it’s an all-volunteer effort. For more information, visit lawrencechristmasparade.org.
