I read where the city’s bus service isn’t receiving as much money from fares as it used to. Can you tell me what percentage of the T’s operating expenses are covered by fares?
In 2010, the fares covered 6.6 percent of the T’s operating expenses. In 2009, it was 7.1 percent, and in 2008 it was 9.0 percent, according to figures from the city.
