When is the Fall Showcase of Homes, or whatever it’s called?
The event — the proper name is Fall Parade of Homes — runs from noon to 5 p.m. during the next two weekends: Saturday and Sunday, and Oct. 2 and 3. The event used to be known as the Fall Showcase of Homes until a few years ago. That’s when organizers opted to switch to “Parade” to conform with the Spring Parade of Homes, also sponsored and organized by the Lawrence Home Builders Association. “Whoever called it the ‘Fall Showcase’ has been around awhile,” said a laughing Bobbie Flory, the organization’s executive director. The Fall Parade of Homes allows people to visit any or all of the 13 homes on the list, available at www.LawrenceParade.com. The original list had 14 entries, but one of the homes— at 3928 Bellflower, built by Mallard Homes — recently sold.
