Why are so many trees in Lawrence dying? What's the cause? I think the ash trees are dying.

Jennifer Smith, horticulture agent for K-State Research and Extension-Douglas County, said some ash trees in the Lawrence area have dropped their leaves because of a fungal leaf spotting disease. She said that the trees should leaf out like normal next spring and that the disease is common in late summer, but does not affect the long-term health of the tree.
