Can someone explain the protocol of all the different pumps and the process of cleaning Potter Lake? It appears the grunge that has been floating in the lake is being drained directly to the river. Is that true?
Jill Jess, a Kansas University spokeswoman, said the plant materials and sediment being removed are being pumped into containment bags in the parking lot slightly northeast of the lake. Once dry, the bags will be removed. They will not be dumped in the river.
