It seems like the barrier in front of the former Masonic Lodge in Downtown Lawrence has been up for several years now. Isn’t there a time limit for an owner, especially on Massachusetts Street, to resolve that sort of issue?
According to the city’s Development Services division, a permit is not needed to secure a building by boarding up an entrance or other opening. In this instance, staff believes the barrier was installed to prevent the use of the entryway alcove for inappropriate purposes.
