How does one dispose of small appliances like vacuum cleaners and fans? Can they be left out with the trash?
Yes, small appliances can be set out with regular trash, but recycling options are available. Best Buy, Extreme Recycling and Asset LifeCycle in Topeka and Surplus Exchange in Kansas City accept most small appliances. Check their websites for more information. In addition, the city of Lawrence will host two electronic recycling events in 2011 that are yet to be determined. Visit LawrenceRecycles.org for information on electronic recycling.
