When will Douglas County Road 9 be repaired to its original status since the construction of the turnpike?
Terese Gorman, engineering division manager for Douglas County public works department, said Hamm Companies, which is handling the turnpike work, plans to close the road again about Dec. 1 to complete construction of the bridges on the turnpike. The road will be closed until about May 1, she said. Once the bridge work is done, the road will be repaired. “We are not sure at this time what all will be done to repair this road, but as a minimum, the subgrade will be repaired and an asphalt overlay will be placed on this road,” Gorman said. “This road repair will be completed early next summer after all construction on the bridges is complete.”
