What are the plans for the former Carnegie Library building at Ninth and Vermont streets?

The lower level of the building will house the offices of the Lawrence Convention and Visitors Bureau and the organization that oversees the Freedom’s Frontier National Heritage Area. The main floor of the building will be managed by the city’s Parks and Recreation Department. It will be rented for receptions and other events. The space also will have displays related to the Freedom’s Frontier National Heritage Area and the region’s role in sparking the Civil War.
