How much did it cost to repair the Bowersock Dam along the Kansas River? How much over budget did that project go?

According to a new city report, total project costs were $2,319,427. That was $40,297 more than the original contract the city issued in August to repair the dam. The bulk of the project was paid for by the city’s utilities department, which uses the dam as part of its water treatment process. The Kansas Department of Transportation and the adjacent Bowersock Mills & Power Co. contributed $100,000 and $8,000, respectively.
