What were all those artifacts that were being moved from the Watkins museum to the Spencer Research Library up at KU?

That would be a box that included old copies of newspapers, said Mike Wildgen, interim director of the Watkins Community Museum of History, 1047 Mass. The materials — property of the Watkins museum — originally were delivered to the Spencer as part of an agreement between the two operations in 1977. In recent years, the materials were returned to the Watkins for use in an exhibit. The materials recently were returned to the Spencer, where they will remain until and if they might be needed once again at the Watkins. “Nothing’s lost,” Wildgen said. “No one stole anything.”
