When is Earth Day this year, and is the city doing anything to celebrate it?
The Web site for the Earth Day Network lists April 22 as the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. The city of Lawrence will be host to an Earth Day celebration on April 17. The celebration is set to run from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at South Park. The event, which is free to attend, will include live music, food, vendors and several exhibits on waste reduction, recycling and several other environmentally friendly practices.
