I saw a list of area highway projects getting dropped by KDOT because of budget cuts. Did any upcoming projects survive the cuts in Douglas County?
Yes, two projects remain scheduled to be under contract during the 2010 fiscal year, which ends June 30, as follows: • In April: $200,000 in state dollars to help finance repaving and joint repairs along Kansas Highway 10 — that’s East 23rd Street — from Haskell Avenue east to the city’s eastern city limits. • In June: $391,689 in state dollars to help finance consolidation of access points along East 23rd, from Iowa to Louisiana streets. The state also plans to spend $25,000 in June for relocation of some fiber optic cable along U.S. Highway 40.
