What’s the latest on how employees of the solid waste department are being paid? Are they still being paid for 8 hours when some days they do not work 8 hours.
Yes. Megan Gilliland, director of communications, said: “The task incentive system remains an effective tool for managing work load for a solid waste operation since the schedule of solid waste employees may vary by job assignment. Solid waste employees report to duty between 5 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., depending on crew assignment and day of the week. “Solid waste loaders and operators who are assigned to regular collection routes are required to finish all routes each day, as a team, in a timely manner, and to the satisfaction of the supervisor. When routes have been completed for all groups in the team, equipment has been checked and reports completed, the teams are eligible to leave for the day.”
