What’s the rule or law regarding turning left on a red light, once you’ve already pulled into the intersection? I was pulled over for turning left on red. If you pull into the intersection, and the light turns red while you’re there, aren’t you supposed to complete your turn?

As long as the driver enters the intersection while the light is green, he/she may complete the left turn even after the light has turned red, given that the driver was prevented from completing the turn because of oncoming traffic, said Scott Miller, a staff attorney for the city of Lawrence.
