Last summer the curbs on Lawrence Avenue, south of Harvard, were replaced. A large machine was used to remove the old curbs and damaged the sidewalk, which borders the golf course. Will the city be repairing the sidewalk soon?
Mark Thiel, assistant director of public works for the city of Lawrence, said that the area in question was surveyed by city crews and it was determined that the damage to the sidewalk was not caused as part of the city’s 2009 curb and gutter replacement project. The city is sending letters to adjacent property owners referencing needed repairs to the sidewalks.
