Will the school district change New York School’s hours for this school year?

Yes, the district changed New York’s school hours from 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. to coincide with Kennedy School’s hours, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. More than 100 students who attended Kennedy last year were moved into the New York district after a boundary change. The school board approved the change after it voted in March to close the East Heights Early Childhood Center because of budget cuts. The early childhood programs moved into Kennedy, and to make room some Kennedy students from last year will attend New York.
