Why was Jimmy Tucker, a 62-year-old man also known as White Owl, banned from KU?
Tucker has been banned from all Kansas University property for five years, beginning Nov. 10, 2009, said Todd Cohen, university spokesman. Douglas County prosecutors said Tucker was recently sentenced to one year of probation after pleading no contest to a charge of violating a protection order. “(The university ban) was issued because the judge in the case had entered an order directing him not to be on campus and he had violated an order of protection from abuse that was obtained by a KU student,” Cohen said. Recent phone calls from Tucker, who was known to frequent campus and make noise and wave at people, indicate he has moved on and is looking to become involved with volunteer opportunities at the Douglas County Jail.
