Does the lifting of the restriction of parking on KU football game days at a property on Mississippi Street apply to all of west Lawrence, all of the city or is it just specific to that lot?
City law and policies provide that the city’s prohibition against parking vehicles in yards shall not be enforced on football game days in the Oread neighborhood, which is the area bordered by Ninth Street, West Campus Road, Tennessee Street and 14th Street. Back on Oct. 6, the owner of property at 746 Miss. — in Old West Lawrence — requested an extension of the policy to include the vacant lot, which is northeast of Eighth and Mississippi streets. Lawrence city commissioners approved the request and city policy was revised to add only the lot in question.
