Sound Off

Is anyone in Douglas County on the Kansas Bureau of Investigation’s offender registry currently classified as not complying with terms of the registry?

Yes. According to a check of the KBI Web site at 12:30 p.m. Monday, three people required to register — either for drugs, violent or sex-crime convictions — were listed as “noncompliant.” This means they either had failed to report to the sheriff’s department as required by law or they committed some other violation. The registry at the KBI’s Web site, kansas.gov/kbi/ro.shtml, is updated every 15 minutes.
