Did we break a snowfall record for December?

“While we had 13.5 inches of snow in December, we are far from setting a record,” said Matt Elwell, 6News meteorologist. “The highest December total was 17.5 inches in 1983. That year also picked up the greatest annual total for snow with 41.9 inches. While we are talking about December records: Our highest daily snowfall in December was 11 inches on Dec. 5, 1942.”
