Why can’t someone from KU Park and Ride organize the lines of fans who are waiting to get on the bus after the basketball games? They take up the entire sidewalk. Fans walking south, past the buses, must walk out into the mud and snow to get around them.
Danny Kaiser, assistant director of KU Parking & Transit, said a new approach — loading three buses at a time — should help keep the line of fans moving. Earlier this season, fans could board only one bus at a time. With anywhere from four to six buses lined up along Naismith Drive, waiting to take fans back to the Park and Ride lot northwest of Iowa Street and Clinton Parkway, the line often would bunch up near the front. “Hopefully this will keep the traffic moving down the sidewalk, and not just standing there,” Kaiser said. The shuttle service is free.
