What are members of the Lawrence Memorial Hospital board of trustees paid for their service? Does the hospital pay for travel for these board members — and, if so, what trips and how frequently?
The LMH Board of Trustees has a fiduciary and legal responsibility to guide the operations of the community hospital, according to Janice Early-Weas, LMH spokeswoman. “They dedicate significant time to the governance of the hospital and serve voluntarily with no compensation,” she said. “Trustees have the opportunity to attend a national hospital governance educational conference once a year, and their related conference expenses are reimbursed.”
