When was the last time a Democrat was elected to the U.S. Senate from Kansas?

George McGill of Wichita was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1930 to replace Sen. Charles Curtis, who resigned to become vice president of the United States. McGill was re-elected in 1932, but lost in 1938. His term ended in 1939.
