Sound Off
I saw that the Kansas University quarterback will be Kale Pick and that he’s a third-year sophomore. How can a college student be a third-year sophomore?
Pick, who hails from Dodge City, red-shirted during his first season in Lawrence in 2008. In doing so, he was allowed to practice with the team but could not play in games. Therefore, last year, as Todd Reesing's backup, he was a red-shirt freshman eligibility-wise and this year he is still just a sophomore. Counting this year, Pick has three years of eligibility remaining because of the red-shirt.
