What are the regulations of the various entities that apply pesticides to the levee for warning people ahead of time? I went to the levee twice this spring and saw no prior warning signage.

According to Tom Orzulak, city of Lawrence street division manager, the city sprays the rock areas of the levee to control vegetation and noxious weeds in accordance with the guidelines of the Corps of Engineers and the Douglas County Noxious Weed ordinances. When spraying, signs are posted at the beginning and end of the areas that are being sprayed.
