The intersection at 27th Street and Wakarusa Drive has never been finished. The top has been removed, there’s no curbing, a huge hole and no turning lanes. It’s a dirt road with a lot of traffic. Are there any plans to finish it?
The city’s contractor recently completed the milling of the street, and all appropriate permits have been secured from the Kansas Department of Transportation for the work, said Chuck Soules, the city’s director of public works. The new layer of pavement should be in place by the end of today, he said. No new curbs will be installed as part of the project.
