Has the rate the city pays for streetlights ever been changed following a recent city audit that raised concerns over how Westar charges the city for streetlights?

City Manager David Corliss said no alterations have been made to the city’s bills for streetlights. Corliss said the city and Westar have met in recent weeks, and representatives are reviewing energy usage data from streetlights. Discussions also have involved ways to better report streetlights that are not working. The city has proposed some language for Westar to consider on how the city’s bill could be credited for streetlight outages. The city is awaiting a response from Westar on that language.
