When is the city going to re-line the streets that have numerous tar patches? The lines aren’t visible in the rain and it presents a safety hazard. There are a lot of new drivers in town. I’ve seen young people cross over the lines because they can’t see them.
The city of Lawrence’s program for striping lanes and crosswalks occurs each fall, said Chuck Soules, director of public works.
“Generally, there are more areas that could be updated than there is funding,” he said. “City staff reviews the locations to determine the most-needed work.”
Anyone with a specific area of concern, Soules said, may report it to the department by calling 832-3123 or e-mailing cityhall@ci.lawrence.ks.us.
