Where is the best place in town to recycle an old TV?
There are several options for recycling TVs in Lawrence, according to Kathy Richardson, Waste Reduction & Recycling operations supervisor for the city of Lawrence. Best Buy, Office Depot, UNI Computers and DoctorDave all have recycling services for old TVs and other electronics. Each business has different guidelines and recycling fees. In addition, the city of Lawrence is hosting an electronic recycling event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 31 in the Free State High School parking lot, 4700 Overland Drive. Items accepted for recycling are TVs, computers, printers, scanners, fax machines, small appliances, phones and other hand-held devices. There is a $5 recycling fee per computer monitor and $10 recycling fee per TV. There are no charges for other electronic equipment.
