How much will Megan Smith earn as Kansas University’s new softball coach, and what are her perks?

After receiving the Journal-World’s written request for Smith’s salary through the Kansas Open Records Act, Kansas Athletics Inc. spokesman Jim Marchiony reported that Smith signed a three-year contract worth $90,000 a year. She will also receive the use of an automobile and two tickets to all KU home sports events, both taxable items. Predecessor Tracy Bunge, who retired in May, received the same extra benefits while earning $80,000 a year.
