In regard to an earlier sound off question about the high school football fields, can you clarify the $9 million in lease agreements and what they are?
“A capital lease is a financing arrangement available to school districts. The payment schedule of capital lease funds cannot be longer than 10 years. The school board is using capital lease funding as part of its current project to improve the safety, equity and quality of high school outdoor athletic facilities,” said Kathy Johnson, USD 497’s division director of finance.
