The Journal-World reported this summer that the holiday parade no longer had a primary sponsor. Will it go on this year?
Yes. CornerBank, which sponsored the parade for five years, sold most of its local banking operations earlier this year to Landmark National Bank and will not continue as the sponsor. The committee for the Downtown Lawrence Old-Fashioned Christmas Parade is collecting smaller amounts of money from more people, says organizer Phil Bradley. The parade will be 11 a.m. Dec. 5 in downtown Lawrence. For more information, visit downtownlawrence.com.
