I was looking at the different schools on the USD497.org Web site. Each school had a state report linked to the Kansas Education Web site. They were giving percentages of economically disadvantaged students. What is an economically disadvantaged student?
The Kansas State Department of Education’s Report Card categorizes students whose families qualify for free or reduced-price school lunches as economically disadvantaged, said Julie Boyle, the Lawrence school district’s communications director.
