Could you please list those who should predominately get the swine flu vaccine again?
According to Lisa Horn, communications coordinator with the Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department, people who belong in the priority group because they are most likely to suffer complications if they get swine flu include:
• People between the ages of 6 months and 24 years.
• People who live with or care for children younger than 6 months of age.
• Pregnant women.
• Health care and emergency services personnel who have direct patient contact.
• People between 25 and 64 years old who have health conditions associated with higher risk of medical complications from influenza. But the health department has condensed this list for its next immunization clinic because of a vaccine shortage, leaving out the last group with the medical conditions. The clinic will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds, 2120 Harper St. For more information, click on www.ldchealth.org.
