If someone has had a case of swine flu but it wasn’t confirmed, should he or she get the H1N1 vaccine?
Yes, the person should still get the vaccine, said Lisa Horn, communications coordinator for the Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department. “Only if a person has had a case of H1N1 confirmed by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment are they thought to be immune from the virus and therefore do not need to receive the vaccination. “If you’ve had or think you’ve had a confirmed case, discuss the results with your health care provider to decide whether you need the vaccine.”
