When’s the Farmers’ Turnpike going to be done? I seem to remember something about it being in time for me to drive to town to buy a Thanksgiving turkey.
The $1.63 million reconstruction of a section of Douglas County Road 438, which started in June, indeed is scheduled for completion in time for the Nov. 26 Thanksgiving holiday. A few days are built in to pick up the turkey and all the trimmings, too. “We remain on schedule to meet the November 21st completion date,” said Keith Browning, county engineer and director of public works. “Despite a wet summer, we remain on track for that date.”
