What kind of lights or reflectors are required on bicycles in Lawrence?

When used at night, the law says, bikes should have: • “A lamp on the front which shall emit a white light visible from a distance of at least 500 feet.” • “A red reflector on the rear” that can be seen when 100 feet to 600 feet in front of a car’s headlights. Bikes should also have a reflector on each pedal that can be seen at night from a distance of 200 feet in front of or behind the bike, according to a standard traffic ordinance provided by Sgt. Bill Cory, Lawrence police spokesman.
