What happens to the leftover lost and found items at local schools?
Some Lawrence school principals say students are reminded to check lost and found before school lets out for the summer. The items are left out for public display. Items not collected by the end of the school year are sometimes given to organizations such as Goodwill. District spokeswoman Julie Boyle said some items are sent to the so-called “clothing room” at Cordley School for students who are in need.
