Deffenbaugh has recycling containers at several schools. Do the schools receive any money for having them on their property?

Lawrence public schools are participating in the Deffenbaugh Industries One Earth, One Chance School Recycling Program. The schools receive rebates for every ton of commodities collected. Rebate rates vary, based on current market values. Community members may use the bins for their recycling needs. “In 2008, the district collected more than 129.5 tons of recyclables,” said John Geist, the school district’s building services supervisor.
